Next week Mr. J. Vinke from the HAN university (Netherlands) will visit CSU university (Chelyabinsk, Russia), one of his goals is to hand out the SIL certificates to those students, who took part in the Sustainability in Logistics project (developing Sustainability in Logistics index/ Duurzaamheidsindex in Logistiek).

Project: Sustainability in Logistics index
September 16th, 2009Goal of the project
The idea of the Sustainability in Logistics index was offered by Jan H. Jansen (The Netherlands), he also developed the structure of the project. During this project will be used the Sustainability in Logistics blog developed by Elena Kaledinova.
The goal of the project is to develop an SIL index to measure how well companies perform in the field of sustainability in logistics. Students of two universities perform their research on this topic on a theoretical level (what indicators should be included in a SIL index; and why they should be included) and a practical level (field research in a company in a certain industry in their home country). The results of the research are shared; so more knowledge is developed on the topic of sustainability in logistics.
